NATIONAL LCMS YOUTH GATHERING
JULY 28 -
AUGUST 1, 2007
ORLANDO, FLORIDA
A vital part of our Christian adventure is with our young people. Our Youth Program includes young people from fifth grade through twelfth grade. Separate meetings for fellowship are held for Junior High (Grades 5-8) and Senior High (Grades 9-12). Our Bible studies, fun activities, fellowship and monthly meetings are held in our Youth Room with comfy couches, games and music.
Special events throughout the year include Lambert's Night, Camp Dixie Outdoor Ministries, Fall Retreats, Ed's Diner night, LCMS National Youth Gathering and the Regional Youth Gatherings.
Be a part of these fun-filled Christian adventures. Experience the joy of fellowship and faith building in God's great creation. You will discover many things about yourself you didn't know while making life long friends. But the most important thing you will experience is a closeness to God, and His abundant grace, love, and forgiveness.
Lambert's Night
Lambert's Night is sponsored by our youth
to raise funds for summer camp, retreats and youth
gatherings.
Lambert's Night was inspired by Lambert's Cafe, "Home of the Throwed Rolls". Each summer, following a week at Camp Dixie, our youth would stop at Lambert's Cafe in Elberta, Alabama, for that good country food in generous portions along with the throwed rolls. According to our youth, "Camp food isn't all that."
James Homrighausen, a member of our Village Family and who works in the food service industry, suggested that we put on a dinner with the Lambert's theme: Silly pranks on customers, good country food, good music and, of course, throwed rolls. With the permission of management at Lambert's Cafe and the wonderful support of our cooks, Paul Homrighausen, Arthur Rey and our wonderful parents, we kicked off our first Lambert's Night on (date) with huge success.
Lambert's Night is an experience you will enjoy. Be sure to catch the roll before it hits your glass of tea!
Our youth attend a week of camp at Camp Dixie Outdoor Ministries on the beautiful shores of Perdido Bay in Elberta, Alabama.
In order to attend Camp Dixie and/or any other youth retreats/gatherings, our youth are required to put in twenty hours of community service, assist with fundraising activities and attend no less than ten youth meetings per year.
It's amazing to see how hard they work for a week of fellowship in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
